Two of my reviews are about painting specifically, and both mention the same thing: the preparation and the clean-up, not the paint.
Painting in detail
Rooms, ceilings, doors and trim
Interior work: living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, ceilings including popcorn ceilings, doors, skirting and trim. Furniture gets covered and moved back, and the room is cleaned before I leave.
Crown moulding and chair rail
I install trim as well as painting it. One customer had crown moulding and chair rail fitted in a living and dining room where thirty years of settlement had left the walls and ceilings out of true: "The moulding needed extensive caulking due to walls and ceilings that simply were no longer straight after 30 years. The result is beautiful, like a model home."
The part people actually notice
Two separate customers volunteered that I went to the store, chose the paint and the supplies, and did not charge extra for it. That is the difference between a painter and somebody who finishes the job.
