Bathrooms in detail

What a bathroom job actually involves

Most bathrooms come apart before they go together. Tile off, sometimes the substrate too, then plumbing moved if the layout is changing, then waterproofing, then tile, then fixtures. The photographs on this page are the finishing stage of jobs that started with a room stripped back.

Tile and stone

Book-matched marble, hexagon mosaic, herringbone, large format porcelain, patterned floor tile. Several of the bathrooms here use a mosaic accent wall behind glass, which is fiddly work: the sheets have to line up across the joints or the eye catches it immediately.

What it costs

It depends entirely on the room and what you choose. Real numbers from my reviews: a bathroom remodel at $8,000, a whole-house programme that ran to $15,000 over ten months, and small tile and caulking jobs at $350. I look at the room and give you a written price before anything starts.

What customers said about this work

Published on Angi, with what each job cost.

  • He goes the extra mile and he treated my house like his own in terms of giving care and attention. His plumbing, masonry and tile fitting skills are exceptional. Above all, Farshad is a real gentleman and my whole family felt at ease when he worked in our house. My whole house has been transformed thanks to Farshad.

Questions

Before you call

A straightforward one is usually one to two weeks. If the layout changes or there is water damage behind the tile, longer. I tell you which it is after I have looked.
